doodle writ large

Got the large piece of canvas cotton fabric from Spoonflower with my doodle printed on it. It looks great. This baby measures 60" x 72". That's a large doodle.
Very tempted to start quilting it. But that will have to wait till the others are done. hmmmm.....maybe a banner....or maybe I will just mail it on to my new friend in New York to turn into a coat.

Ordered some fabric

After talking with a new friend last night I decided to order a print of this design at 54" wide on linen/cotton fabric. Should be an interesting experiment. doodle writ large.

detail request

Here's a detail of one of the sections of the Stream of Consciousness quilts. The quilt is an assemblage of 4 x 4 squares of muslim that I drew on with fabric pen in one sitting (doodling gone fabric). I combined the squares with found bits of embroidered napkins and sandwiched them with strongly colored fabrics below to signify the unconscious. The stitching on top of the quilt connects and mimics the drawings to portray the odd collection of images and thoughts our brains hold.

new quilt

Gosh I wish my camera was better. This is my new quilt (just finished) I am calling it Stream of Consciousness. The hints of color are from fabric placed below the top layer (signifying subconscious) The detail shot shows some of the thread work and drawings I added with a fabric marker.
